Geo Prospecting State Machine
Summary
Geo turns source-backed locations into inspected and reusable opportunity selections. Its state machine exists so spatial evidence, scoring, map review, and saved-selection handoff remain reusable beyond any one downstream module.
Reader Question
How does a candidate move from external source evidence to a saved geographic selection that marketing or another workflow can consume without owning geo internals?
State Machine
The flow begins in Discovered, where source jobs find possible candidates. Geocoded attaches location evidence and provider confidence. Enriched derives parcel, H3, and travel-time features. Scored converts those features into opportunity signals.
The map surface moves the system into Inspected. Operators compare coverage, context, accessibility, and scoring explanations. A selection becomes Saved only when the operator preserves a reusable boundary and candidate context. Downstream systems then Import the selection into their own materialization logic.
Failures belong in state, not logs. Ambiguous geocodes, missing parcels, stale scores, or handoff mismatches should create review or refresh work and return to the earliest source, geocoding, enrichment, or saved-selection state that can be safely rebuilt.
